A : Aquarian Age

Aquarian Age: Sign for Evolution is a 13-episode TV anime series based on the Aquarian Age TCG. The show produced by BROCCOLI aired in early 2002 on TV Tokyo. VHS and DVD copies of the Japanese editions are currently on sale, and ADV Films has released the show in the United States on DVD in three volumes containing both English subtitled and dubbed versions.
The story centers on high school student and band vocalist Kamikurata Kyouta, and how he stumbles on a secret war being waged by mysterious girls with otherworldly powers. Kyouta later forms a band named T.L. Signal with his friends Kojima Junichi, and Hirota Shingo. Kyouta's band works for a company named CosmoPop. Junichi plays the keyboard, and Shingo is the guitarist of the band. Things grow even more complicated when he discovers his girlfriend Sannou Yoriko might be the key to it.
One other note is that the TV series draws heavily from the world setup of the original card games, and features male "Mindbreakers" with female-only faction members.
ADV Films's official show website and the inserts in their 2004 DVD release provide a glossary of information on the card games' factions.
The stand-alone
manga Juvenile Orion occurs in the broader Aquarian Age universe, but is unrelated to Aquarian Age: Sign for Evolution.
The background music is composed by
Yuki Kajiura, also known for the background music from Noir and the second and third episodes of the Xenosaga game trilogy. The upcoming live-action film's main theme is Mirror Ball by Japanese rock group Alice Nine.

A : Aozora Shoujotai

801 T.T.S. Airbats (青空少女隊, Aozora Shōjotai) is a manga by Shimizu Toshimitsu which was later adapted into a seven episode anime series, produced by Studio Fantasia and Victor Entertainment. The series was released in Japan as a series of OAV episodes between 1994 and 1996, and was licensed for English language distribution by ADV Films.
The plot focuses on the activities of technician Takuya Isurugi, who is transferred to the unit at the beginning of the series. Isurugi is a shy
otaku who initially makes a bad impression with the four pilots of the unit, all of whom are female.
The plot quickly turns into that of a
harem anime when two of the pilots, Miyuki Haneda and Arisa Mitaka, fall in love with the surprised Isurugi. This inflames their already-existing rivalry, which causes trouble for their co-operation in the air. With the JASDF already considering disbanding their unit, Isurugi must persuade the girls to work together to improve their performance and save the team.

A : Aoki Densetsu Shoot!

Aoki Densetsu Shoot! (蒼き伝説 シュート!, Aoki Densetsu Shoot!) is a Japanese anime produced by Toei Animation between November 7, 1993 and December 25, 1994 on the Fuji TV television network; there were fifty-eight episodes. The story revolves around a boy named Toshihiko Tanaka, who has just started at Kakegawa High School in order to play soccer with his idol, Yoshiharu Kubo. Toshi's friends are not interested in playing soccer again this year until he convinces them to join the team. Soon, the team is entered into the All-Japan High School Championship.
The series is based on the manga Shoot! by
Tsukasa Ōshima, which won the 1994 Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen.

Story
Toshihiko "Toshi" Tanaka joined the same soccer club that his idol, Yoshiharu Kubo plays for at Kakegawa High School. When Toshi played in junior high with two of his friends Kenji Shiraishi and Kazuhiro Hiramatsu, they were known as the Kakenishi golden trio. Now in high school, his friends do not want or cannot play soccer anymore. Hiramatsu is forced to study by his father so that he would become a respectable adult. However, Hiramatsu loves soccer and wants to play so he confronted his father and says that he wants to play soccer with his friends and that he would never understand his love for soccer. It turns out that his father played soccer during his youth and, remembering how much he loved it, decides to let Hiramatsu play soccer but under the condition that he will keep his grades up as well. Shiraishi on the other hand quit soccer because he lost his temper and got into a fight that ended up disqualifying their team. In the end, he joins the Kakegawa High School soccer club because he loves soccer and playing in the golden trio.
Tragedy struck Kake-High soccer club when they lost their captain and ace striker Yoshiharu Kubo. During the semifinal match against Kakekita, they were down with 2-1 with less than ten minutes left. Kubo was on defense helping Kenji defend the goal against Hirose's Knuckle Shoot, when he decided to make an effort to tie the game. Kubo took the ball from his own side of the pitch, passed every Kakekita player, and scored the tying goal. After the goal, Kubo collapsed and died after the game. Toshi scored the last and winning goal for Kake-High with the end result 2-3.
Afterwards, the team can't get over Kubo's death and lose to Fujita East before they get to the Nationals. Soon after, Mahori, a Brazilian-Japanese student appears. He decides to join their team after making a bit of mayhem. The whole team decides to follow Kubo's example and play fun soccer, vowing to get to the Nationals in his name.

[edit] Characters
Toshihiko Tanaka
The Main character of Aoki Densetsu Shoot! He's a freshman on the soccer team. At the very beginning when he joined the soccer club of Kakegawa High he's only assigned to do the laundry by Co-Captain Kamiya. But later on, as the team started to recognize how great he was during middle-school, they let him join the training.
Kubo recognized that Toshi has indifferent footings than other members. He's anxious when see Toshi was not balanced in stepping. After examining his legs, Kubo found out that Toshi's true strength lies in his left leg, not right leg. This caused Kubo to put him at separated training apart from their teammates. At first Toshi was disgraced and protested against him. But after rigorous shooting training when Kubo tested his left leg and ordered him to shoot using his left leg, Toshi discovered that he has immense weapon striker left leg that even caused Kubo to be amazed. His left leg shoots very hard. Later he was called "The Golden Leg", he become the new no. 10 and ace striker of the soccer team.
Kazuhiro Hiramatsu
He's one of Toshi's best friends, since they were young. He stopped playing soccer to study more because of his father's will. But after Kazumi and Toshi talked to him playing soccer again, he tried to convince his father that he can play soccer AND study for his tests. In the end he's allowed to play soccer again after being told from his mother that his father also played soccer when he was young. He was remarked as the genius player through the anime. He is famous of his "Heel/Double Heel Shoot", which causes illusion that looks like the ball disappears. In the later end of series, when the anxious opponents have discovered the secrets of Double Heel Shoot and found a way to counter it, Kazuhiro lifted all his strength, creating a miraculous "Triple Heel Shoot" and tricked the awaiting opponents once again, making him an unstoppable player all the time with his Heel Shoots.
Shiraishi Kenji
Kenji stopped playing soccer. He got his team disqualified from a tournament, because of a gang-fight. But like Kazuhiro he has been convinced to join the soccer team. His skills as a goal keeper are outstanding as he has a great sense of the direction the ball is following. He is hot-tempered and pick up fights easily, an excample of this were the fights he had with Mahori when Mahori first joined the team. He is popular of his "Moon Salto Save". He found this move later in the series. With this move he defended the goal from Rudy's Wolf Shoot, making Kakegawa impenetrable. In fact, throughout the series he blocks many dangerous attacks using it, including his friend Toshi's Golden Shoot in their spare training.
Kazumi Endo
The Manager of the soccer club. She's always there to cheer them up and stop the fangirls to get near 'her' team. Kazuhiro liked her, but she preferred Toshi. Then it's a love-rivalry between Toshi and Kazuhiro, although Toshi himself didn't regard Kazumi as his love and apparently didn't have so much interest in her.
Yoshiharu Kubo
He's the Team-Captain from Kakegawa-High-Soccerclub and also the ace striker, carrying the jersey with the no. 10. Kubo also has been to Germany a few years. That's where his extraordinary skills came from. But he's seriously ill and dies after half of the series, before even realizing his dream do go to the nationals. The members of the team carry on his will of "fun-soccer" during the rest of the series. Kubo had superior skills than other players, and he alone can execute one special shoot that later is done by combining Toshi and Kazuhiro together.
Atsushi Kamiya
Number: 7
Position: Mid-fielder
Class: Junior
Birthday: October 11, 1974
Height: 175cm
Weight: 63kg
Elated Skills: Through Pass
Voiced by: Toshiyuki Morikawa
The Vice-Captain of the soccer team. He's always a bit rude, especially when it's something about Kubo, but still a good-hearted person. He used to play selfish in middle school and his team didn't accept him, but as Kubo joined them, they became a strong formation together. After Kubo dies he became Captain and also decided that Toshi'll become the new no. 10. Kamiya can seemed conceited some times but he is nothing like this.
As captain he has the air of a leader. He thinks fast creating strategies which can help the team and he is the one to motivate and help his teammates. He cares deeply for the team. Afte the loss of Kubo when everyone was depressed he was the one who stood strong and helped the other two understand that they had to be strong too. When Mahori appeared the club separated into two factions: those who agreed with Mahori that the team had to change its style, like Kazuhiro, Nitta and Akahori, and those who insisted on following Kubo's play, like Tanaka, Kenji, Yuutaka and Shigeki (who was the leader of this team). Kamiya arranged a practice match between the two teams with him as a referee. Through this match the second team found their past motive and way of playing ending to tie up the match in the last minute while they were losing making an all-out attack, with even Kenji leaving the post to score. After that everyone understood their mistake and decided to fight together till the end. Kamiya himself entered the match, seeing his teammates playing with their old style, not resisting in that making them look at him in surprise. Looking at this we can understand how he was thinking one step ahead of his teammates, especially after he took the place of the captain.
Kamiya makes an excellent playmaker. With his sharp pass he can easily confuse the opponent. As his skills were improving he became one of the best play makers of the nation. Moreover later his abilities were recognized and he was considered as good as Kubo, especially in the leading of his team.
Keigo Mahori
He's half-Japanese and half-Brazilian. He moved from Brazil to Japan and joined the soccer club after quarreling with Kenji and the others.
Yutaka Sasaki
Number: 6
Position: Forward
Class: Freshmen
voiced by Isshin Chiba
Sasaki wasn't considered a very good player. Sasaki his self entered the team to be with his best friend Nitta, as he was more into music and indeed a member of a band. However through the anime Sasaki shows very good skills, he was chosen for the main squad from the beginning while Nitta entered a lot later. His stamina and Speed, which are fast as Kazuhiro's are remarkable and he seemed to get too close with the team later. When Kubo died in a conversation he mentioned that Kubo was the one who made him take the decision to enter too.
Shinichi Nitta
Position: Defender
Class: Freshmen
He's a close friend of Sasaki. His role in story is minor. But surprisingly, he's often the savior in the heat of the game. His ability is creating offside-trap that often helped the team in dire situations when dangerous opponent strikers are attacking. His innocent face combined with great offside timing proves true alongside Kakegawa team. Although he's good at defending, he sometimes made mistakes by soloing the dribble pushing the opponents alone. This causes more advanced opponents to easily retake the ball from him and counterattack Kakegawa.

A : Angelic Layer

Angelic Layer (エンジェリックレイヤー, Enjerikku Reiyā?) is a manga series released by Clamp. The manga is published in Japan by Kadokawa Shoten, and in English by Tokyopop.[2] It is the group's first work to use a quite different art style unseen in any other CLAMP series, which uses a more distinctly pared down style. There is less emphasis on detail and more on accentuated posing and gestures. This kind of artwork would later be used in series like Chobits and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle.
The manga was adapted into a 26-episode
anime series titled Battle Doll Angelic Layer (機動天使エンジェリックレイヤー, Kidō Tenshi Enjerikku Reiyā?, lit. Mobile Angel Angelic Layer) which aired on TV Tokyo from April 1, 2001- September 23, 2001.[3] Seven volumes of videos were released by ADV Films on VHS and DVD in 2003. It was re-released in 2005 as a five volume box set.[4]
Angelic Layer is related to Clamp's later work Chobits, which similarly deals with the relationship between humans, human-created devices, toys, and godlike power. Several characters also appear in Clamp's Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle including most of the main characters, as well as the angel Blanche.

Plot

List of characters in Angelic Layer
The primary protagonist of Angelic Layer is Misaki Suzuhara, a seventh grader who just moved to
Tokyo to live with her aunt, Shouko Asami. After arriving in the city, she watches the battle doll Athena on a big screen television outside of Tokyo Station and becomes interested in learning about Angelic Layer, a highly popular game in which players (called Deus) buy and custom-design dolls known as Angels. Angels can move by mental control when on a field called the "layer." Layers are very expensive; most users rent them by the hour in establishments resembling cybercafes.
An eccentric man wearing a white lab coat and glasses, calling himself "Icchan" (いっちゃん), encourages Misaki to purchase and create her own angel. She names the angel Hikaru, after Hikaru Shidō from Clamp's
Magic Knight Rayearth (a manga in Angelic Layer's world), which she was reading on the train to Tokyo, because she wants the angel to be "a short girl, but strong and happy" like Hikaru and herself. Even though she's clueless about the game, Misaki soon competes in tournaments and is assisted and watched carefully by Icchan. Later, Icchan's identity is revealed as Ichiro Mihara, the co-creator of Angelic Layer.
Misaki also begins studying in the Eriol Academy, an educational institution which includes grades from kindergarten through high school. There she becomes friends with
Hatoko Kobayashi, a very intelligent and mature kindergarten girl who is a famous Deus and an Angelic Layer expert. Her incredibly fast angel Suzuka is a favourite contender in tournaments. Misaki also befriends Hatoko's older brother Kōtarō Kobayashi and his friend Tamayo Kizaki, a girl fascinated by martial arts. Both turn out to be Misaki's classmates.
While adjusting to her new surroundings, Misaki is also gripped by her past. Her thoughts often dwell on her mother, whom she has not seen since pre-school. Eventually Misaki learns that her mother was key in the development of Angelic Layer, which she worked on an attempt to develop a perfect
prosthesis for her multiple sclerosis, which has confined her to a wheelchair. Her mother is also the Deus of Athena and the champion of Angelic Layer.
In the manga series, Misaki's mother does not have multiple sclerosis, nor is she depicted in a wheelchair. The ending to the manga also has different couplings.
The manga series is set a few years before
Chobits, a Clamp work in the same universe as Angelic Layer. In the manga, Icchan plays an important role in the Chobits storyline, but this connection was reduced to a single scene in the anime; he has a brief cameo but is not mentioned by name in the Chobits anime. Kaede's younger brother Minoru is also a Chobits character.

Connection to other Clamp series

Lists of miscellaneous information should be avoided. Please relocate any relevant information into appropriate sections or articles. (March 2008)
Hikaru is named after the
main character in Magic Knight Rayearth. She also looks somewhat like her. However, in the anime version, Misaki says that Hikaru is named after her favorite doll, which she left at her grandparents' home in Wakayama when she moved to Tokyo.[5]
Kero of Cardcaptor Sakura is seen in volume 9, page 51 reading an Angelic Layer magazine.
Piffle Princess is the store where Misaki buys supplies for Hikaru. This store is also found in other Clamp creations such as
Cardcaptor Sakura, Legal Drug, xxxHolic, and Chobits.[6]
Misaki uses "na!" or "eeks!"
[7] in her everyday language. The use of a cute exclamatory phrase is reminiscent of another young female Clamp protagonist, Sakura, who uses the word "hoe!" in Cardcaptor Sakura.
In the manga, the pre-story pages show faux newspaper articles that mention tidbits up from other series.
Ringo Seto's Angel Ranga looks very much like the characters of Princesses
Tarta and Tatra from Magic Knight Rayearth. Ranga and Tarta and Tatra are dance warriors with nearly the same dress design and moves.
Hatoko looks rather similar to
Tomoyo Daidouji, Sakura's best friend from Cardcaptor Sakura.[8]
Mihara is a known last name to be used by two popular Clamp characters.
Chiharu Mihara of Cardcaptor Sakura and Icchan Mihara. Chiharu's last name Mihara is used (or possibly is related to) by Icchan Mihara also suspected to be the late husband of Chitose Hibiya of Chobits. Chitose used the Mihara last name in another Clamp work Kobato.
In page 16 of volume 7 of
Chobits, Kaede Saito's story of her death was told by her brother Minoru. Misaki, Sai, and Ohjiro are in the background, standing by her bed in one panel and crying with her back turned after she dies.
Kaede seems to be similar in appearance to
Fuu Hououji, a character from Magic Knight Rayearth, another Clamp work.
In volume 7 of
Chobits, silhouettes of the legendary Angelic Layer dolls (Shirahime, Blanche, Wizard, Suzuka, and Hikaru) are shown as Chitose tells Motosuwa the truth about her husband's earlier work with the Angelic Layer game.
In volume 4 of Angelic Layer, Misaki sings cheerfully to herself as she is making breakfast; the words of her song are, "A field of peony pink..." She is singing "Poeny Pink", the theme song to
Clamp School Detectives.
In episode three, the song that Icchan plays while Misaki is training is "Catch You, Catch Me", the first theme to another Clamp creation and popular TV series,
Cardcaptor Sakura.[9]
In
Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Sakura and Syaoran wake up in an Angel Egg after being in the Outo Country.
Clamp's crossovers
In addition to Angelic Layer being the prequel to the Chobits manga, many of its characters and institutions are shown in other Clamp works:
In volume 9 of
Cardcaptor Sakura, Kero-chan is reading an Angelic Layer book, which appears to be one for a computer game (though some think that he is reading the Angelic Layer manga).
Tamayo, Oujiro, Shouko and the Angelic Layer announcer appear in
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle in Piffle Country, while Kaede and Sai appeared in Rekord Country.
In the country of Infinity in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, there is a tournament with similarities to Angelic Layer battles, where the Deus sits on an egg-shaped chair and telekinetically controls the players (in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle they are called "chess pieces" instead of "Angels", however, and often normal people are the pieces.)
Hikaru is introduced in Chapter 144 of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle as an "automata", a chess piece which Eagle (a crossover character from Magic Knight Rayearth) uses in a one-on-one battle with Sakura and Syaoran.

A : Angel's Tails

Angel's Tails (おとぎストーリー 天使のしっぽ, Otogi Story Tenshi no Shippo) is an anime series produced by Wonderfarm and Tōkyō Kids. The series was broadcasted by the anime television network, Animax across its respective networks worldwide, including Southeast Asia, East Asia and South Asia, in English and other languages.

Storyline
The main character, Gorō Mutsumi, has no luck at all, not with jobs, nor with his schooling, and especially not with women or girlfriends. That is until the day he meets a
fortune teller who informs him that he will have a fateful encounter and gives him a cell phone with which she promises his luck will change for good. Gorō does not believe her as she just vanishes as he remembers all of his previous times of bad luck with women.
It is then seen that he meets three girls who are waiting for him back at his apartment. They say they are now his
Guardian Angels, sent to Earth from the spirit realm by the Goddess. They are the first three of his twelve beloved pets who had died due to Gorō's poor luck, returning to him on earth.
Soon after more and more of his former pets return to him as guardian angels, and each desires to be seen as number one in his heart, as his favorite pet. Each also has fears which they must overcome, fears from their past lives, for to overcome them and to learn to live with each other as one big family is the only way they will ever stand a chance of helping Gorō turn his life around and gain some good luck that his life was missing.
These girls however are not the only ones on earth, because of Gorō's own past life, because of what he was in another time and another place, there are strange people out there trying to put a stop to these girls turning his luck around. For their own reasons, these people fear Gorō and desire him out of the way. As the story progresses the girls learn they must protect Gorō not only from his own bad luck but from these other people, without fully understanding either who they are or why they want to harm their beloved master.

Voiced by: Hisayoshi Suganuma (Japanese), Ted Sroka (English)
Gorō is the protagonist of the anime, and until the second season he is still the protagonist and in season 2,he works as if he is working as the sage. Yuki (ユキ, Yuki?) (Snake) Age 18 (19 in second season)
Voiced by: Kyoko Hikami (Japanese), Karen Strassman (English)
Yuki is a strong and calm woman. She usually remains quiet but will give useful advice when called upon. She acts and is seen as a mother to the younger angels. Mika uses "mother" as an insult towards her. She was a white snake in her past life.

As the goddess she became stronger and had a stronger will to take part in the sage's dream. Her white skin represents a snake's skin. Her name means snow, alluding to the color of her skin and scales.
Mika (ミカ, Mika?) (Rabbit) Age 17 (18 in second season)
Voiced by: Yukana (Japanese), Wendee Lee (English)
Mika is extroverted and hyperactive. Her over the top antics usually result in her being yelled at by Ayumi and Akane (rabbits have a history of rivalry with turtles and foxes). When she was a rabbit, she died of loneliness, which may account for her current personality of being an attention seeker. Mika is in the Senior rank. Her name means new moon, alluding to myth of the rabbit of the moon.
Unlike most of the other angels, she is very clearly romantically attracted to Gorō. Her hairstyle represents a rabbit's ears.

?) (Turtle) Age 16 (17 in second season)
Voiced by:
Ayako Kawasumi (Japanese), Hunter MacKenzie Austin (English)
Ayumi was a turtle in her past life. Because of this, she is always slow to make decisions because she is always thinking ahead. Ayumi always wears a green
beret-like hat that symbolizes her turtle-shell in her past life. Ayumi is the bride of Shin the Black Turtle (Genbu), and that he has deep feelings for her, and on an occasion, risked his life to save hers in a collapsing warehouse. oxygen and so she drowned. Her name means water lily.
Throughout the anime, she gains the most screen time and is used in advertising the show more than the other angels. In fact, the series opens with her death as a goldfish and not the other angels' deaths as pets. She also is romantically in love with Gorō. Also, throughout the anime it's noticed that in cases involving Goro's heart, she often gets very sensitive. Tsubasa also notes and comments upon the fact that Ran's feelings surpass her own, and vows to bring Ran and Goro together. Ran is one of the first 3 angels that appeared in the series. She is in the Senior rank.
Tsubasa (ツバサ, Tsubasa
?) (Parakeet) Age 14 (15 in second season)
Voiced by:
Sakura Nogawa (Japanese), Zarah Little (English)
Tsubasa was a parakeet in her past life, she was rescued by Gorō when she broke her wing and he took care of her. She is afraid of heights, this is because after she believed her wing was healed she tried to show her appreciation by showing him her beauty in flight, she tried to fly but fell from the house's window and died. Her hairstyle represents a parakeet's wings.
Tsubasa too has deep feelings for Goro, she's angry at Rei, the Red Phoenix (Suzaku), who is in love with her but hurt her beloved master. Her name means wing, alluding to her animal self.
In Season 2 Tsubasa is a girl like non-other. She may be a bit boyish but she still has the characteristics of being a girl or even a woman. Despite of this she still strived for her master and eventually became stronger and became all worthed for Goro. Tsubasa is in the Intermediate rank (Senior rank in Season 2).
Kurumi (クルミ, Kurumi
?) (Hamster) Age 13 (14 in second season)

Mayako Nigo (Japanese), Sandy Fox (English)
Kurumi was a hamster in her past life. One day she escaped from her cage and went on an adventure, but got lost and was unable to get home, thus she died of
starvation. Her name means walnut.
In the anime, she has maintained her hamster-instincts ie: to eat a lot so that she wouldn't starve to death again. Her hairstyle,
bao and mouth shape represent a hamster's ears and mouth. She often says "Nano" at the end of her sentences. Kurumi is one of the first 3 angels that appeared in the series. Kurumi is in the Intermediate rank.
Akane (アカネ, Akane
?) (Fox) Age 12 (13 in second season)
Voiced by:
Saeko Chiba (Japanese), Tricia Dickson (English)
Akane is an
introverted and misunderstood girl. She is mature for her age but is very afraid of dogs, even Nana. This is because in her past life she was a fox who died after dogs attacked her and her family and she was shot by a hunter who was hunting her. Her name means scarlet.
Her pony tail and hair ribbon-ties represent a fox's tail and ears. She appears to be cold but is actually very friendly and warms to Midori more than the other angels. She reveals that she is in love with Goro. Akane is in the Intermediate rank.
Midori (ミドリ, Midori
?) (Raccoon Dog) Age 11 (12 in second season)
Voiced by:
Akiko Kobayashi (voice actor) (Japanese), Jessica D. Stone (English)
Midori is often seen with Akane working in an
udon store which is a reference to Japanese mythology. She and Akane have also been known to shapeshift - a power that tanuki and kitsune have been known to possess in Japanese mythology. She is in the intermediate rank. Her name means green.
Her hairstyle represents a raccoon dog's ears and tail.
Tamami (タマミ, Tamami
?) (Cat) Age 10 (11 in second season)
Voiced by:
Chiaki Osawa (Japanese), Carrie Daniels (English)
Tamami is very catlike and has many
catgirl personality traits. She is very hyperactive and has kept her cat-like ability to scale walls with ease. Tamami is the bride of Gai,the White Tiger (Byakko) but says she's too young. It is noted that Gai is protective of her and always tries to help her out of danger. A defining trait of hers is that she's occasionally business-oriented in both seasons.
Whenever you cannot find her she is most likely in a grassy place taking a nap. She is afraid of cars and traffic because in her past life she was a cat who died after she was hit by a car.
Her hairstyle represents a cat's ears and she belongs to the intermediate rank. In the second Season Tamami is in the Senior rank.
Tamami as an intermediate in first season, does her work with exellence that promoted her to the senior's rank that truly deserves her. In the second season she is not anymore the girl of ease, but in this season she's at her best to help Goro. She may still be a pest to others but she may be way better than them.
Momo (モモ, Momo
?) (Monkey) Age 9 (10 in second season)
Voiced by:
Aya Hirano (Japanese), Kay Jensen (English)
Momo is shy, this is because while she was alive as a monkey, she was too out going and too curious and these traits made her lose her tail and got her
electrocuted. It is also noted, especially by Nana and Ruru that Momo had a crush on a boy from the neighborhood, called Daisuke, who too had a crush on her. Strangely, her monkey form greately resembles a tarsier. Her names means peach.
Her hairstyle represents a monkey's tail. In season 2 she develops feelings for Goro. She is in the Junior rank. (Intermediate rank in season 2).
In season 2, Momo is a shy girl that often goes with the flow with anything she is involved with. This is the reason why she almost can't express what she really want or even what she thinks. In season 1 Momo is really a shy girl but in season 2, she develops her courage, self confidence and trust to herself that made her own feelings for Goro Mutsumi.
Nana (ナナ, Nana
?) (Dog) Age 8 (9 in second season)

Shizuka Hasegawa (Japanese), Lauren Bendik (English)
Nana has a
tomboyish personality, and is hyperactive just like in her past life being a dog. She enjoys walks but tends to get lost. Nana belongs to the junior rank. Her name means look
Her hairstyle represents a dog's ears.
Ruru (ルル, Ruru
?) (Frog) Age 7 (8 in second season)
Voiced by:
Mei Shimizu (Japanese), Rachel Hirschfeld (English)
Ruru, being the youngest of the group, is a rather spoiled girl. Her hairstyle and pigtail holders represent a frog's skin and eyes. Her spoiled behavior has earned her the ire of Gou and Gai whenever she does something that contradicts their activities (in Gou's case, she insisted Goro read her a story when he hadn't eaten breakfast and in Gai's, she changed the channel while he was watching an anime), to which she replies that she only obeys Goro which causes them to break into fits which prompts at least Shin to restrain them. Ruru is in the junior rank. Her name means Pearl.

[edit] Four Saint Beasts
As early as Tamami's entrance (in the second episode), these four men who are reincarnations of the Four Sacred Beasts (Seiryu, Suzaku, Byakko and Genbu) make numerous attempts to eliminate Goro's life. Midway into the story, Yuki, Tsubasa, Tamami and Ayumi are kidnapped by them to be their respective "brides". It is later revealed that the reason for this was revenge for Goro's past life taking their special powers. However, it was also revealed after the confrontation between Goro and the eight remaining Angels and the four gods that Goro's past life was in fact Seijya "Not human nor animal two supreme beings that are tied together" and the act of taking these powers was only to prevent any possible conflict between humans and animals. Because of finally understanding the true reason for the loss of their powers, the four kidnapped angels are returned to normal and the four move in to assume the task of protecting Goro. Unfortunately, they aren't as efficient as the Angels so they elect to leave Goro again with the Angels to reclaim their powers on their own, knowing that Goro is in good hands with the angels. They all wear qipao-like attire colored in their respective colors. They make no appearance in the second season, but are mentioned.
In 2003, a spin-off series named
Saint Beast premiered. Other than the Four Saint Beasts and Yuki as the Goddess, there is no real relationship to Angel Tales.
Gou
Voiced by:
Toshiyuki Morikawa (Japanese), Justin Gross (English)
The reincarnation of Seiryu the Azure Dragon of the East. As such, he is the group's leader and the most powerful. Unlike the other four gods, he is heterochromatic (his left eye is blue while his right is red). He is the last to appear (at the end of episode 8) and his reappearance frightens even the goddess, who accidentally drops her staff in fear. He takes Yuki as his bride, since Oriental dragons, which Seiryu is commonly depicted as, are serpentine. He is clearly in love with Yuki, as she is with him.
Sacred Power: Fang(Sword) of the Blue Dragon. Lightning Blast
Rei
Voiced by:
Kouki Miyata (Japanese), Patrick Seitz (English)
The reincarnation of Suzaku the Vermilion Bird of the South. He is the most feminine in appearance, behavior (though not as extreme enough to be considered homosexual, which he himself states), and (only in the Japanese version) voice, thus the series' bishōnen. He first appears to hypnotize Goro while on a date with Tsubasa to a theme park to ride the ferris wheel, knowing full well of Tsubasa's fear of heights. He later takes Tsubasa as his bride, since both are birds. When she later regains control of her will, she slaps Rei, without a care of who he was, to prove a point of how much grief and trouble they caused. Later on, even he notes that Tsubasa has feelings for him, but as he was leaving, he was contented with the result. Unlike his Saint Beast counterpart, his hair covers his left eye, hence the bishōnen appearance.
Sacred Power: Wings of the Red Phoenix. Talon Strike. Scorched Flame
Gai
Voiced by:
Hiroyuki Yoshino (Japanese), Josh Phillips (English)
The reincarnation of Byakko the White Tiger of the West. He is the most impulsive of the group and is prone to wild fits. He is the first to appear, attempting to run over Goro with a truck but is saved by Tamami, whom he later takes as his bride, both being cats. Though he complained about Tamami's age at first, he really is fond of her, and always tries to protect her.
Sacred Power: Armour of the White Tiger. Tiger Claw
Shin
Voiced by:
Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese), Crispin Freeman (English)
The reincarnation of Genbu the Black Tortoise of the North. He is the sensible, calm and brooding member of the group and its second-in-command, leading it in Gou's absence. He bypassed Ayumi while she was doing groceries. He later saw her again when the three tricked Goro into working at an abandoned site under the pretense of a part-time job but to use him as a sacrifice to revive Gou. It was here that he fell in love with her enough to save her from the collapsing building. He later made her his bride, both being closely related animals (shelled reptiles). However, when the four joined Goro's side, Ayumi unconsciously hints that the relationship may not be one sided even before her abduction, the same goes for Yuki and Gou and Tsubasa and Rei, and later perhaps, Tamami and Gai. His Saint Beast counterpart constantly wears glasses and has shoulder-length blue-green hair, unlike the original Shin, who only wore his glasses in disguise, as well as having shorter black hair.
Sacred Power: Shield of the Black Turtle. Shell Shards

A : Angel Sanctuary

Angel Sanctuary (天使禁猟区, Tenshi Kinryōku) is a manga and anime series created by Kaori Yuki. This 20-volume series was originally serialized in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume. The manga was adapted as a three-episode OVA series that loosely covers the first story arc; it was intended to be an introduction to the manga rather than a complete story, and thus ends on an abrupt cliffhanger. Both the manga and anime feature mature content.
A series of drama CDs based on the other story arcs was also released.
Angel Sanctuary is one of Kaori Yuki's most celebrated works. Among other things, it discusses the morality of incestuous relationships, the nature of God, and other philosophical topics. North American distribution rights of the anime have been rescued from Central Park Media by Media Blasters (2007).
Story
The background story is that of Organic Angel Alexiel, who is one of the highest beings in existence, third only to God himself and the primordial man known as
Adam Kadmon. Alexiel is equal in rank to her twin brother, the Inorganic Angel Rosiel. Before the beginning of the series God has fallen asleep to "gather his powers" which indicates that he is, in this series, very powerful but not omnipotent.
In this series Assiah (
Earth) and the upper levels of Hell (Gehenna) are mirror images of each other. As mankind polluted and destroyed the Earth the lands of Hell also began to weaken. Taking advantage of their creator's sleep and the weakening of their enemies, the angels of heaven wage war on the Evil race (a group of beings that are demons who have turned away from the Devil, Lucifer, and God; they live in Gehenna and worship "Holy Dragon Gods"), wiping most of them out.
In doing this the angels fighting the war are corrupted. They commit vile crimes and murders under the name of God and
righteousness. This deeply goes against Alexiel's morals. She feels that the Evils are more pure in their actions since they do not put up a charade of purity to cover their crimes. She joins the Evils' side of the war and declares an official revolt against God.
The war comes to a climax and end when Alexiel fights against her brother Rosiel. Earlier, Rosiel had found out that he is decomposing and that his mind will rot. He went to Alexiel to ask her to kill him before he goes crazy, which she agrees to. But when she is about to deal the killing blow to him, he yells "Would you kill your own twin brother, Alexiel!?". She then is filled with pity and remorse, so she seals him within the Earth using a barrier of forbidden magic. However in doing this she used every ounce of her power and shatters Nanatsusaya (the "Holy Sword of God", that made every bearer before Alexiel go mad with its power and kill themselves and countless others). The result is that Rosiel is now sealed inside Assiah and Alexiel is captured and tried by the Angel of
Judgment, Uriel.
For her crimes, Alexiel is sentenced to the most severe punishment given to the fallen. Her body and
soul are separated. The body is frozen in an angel crystal and then locked away in the deepest depths of angel security on the fourth circle/layer of Heaven, Machonon. Her soul is sentenced to be incarnated into a human mortal. That mortal's life is sentenced to be filled with physical and emotional pain. Everytime Alexiel is re-incarnated, the cycle begins anew. But in every incarnation Alexiel's personality is still present under specific (e.g. dangerous) circumstances, which causes her incarnation to have strange spiritual patterns and powers at times; it is as if the incarnation has a multiple personality disorder. In the storyline she is incarnated into a boy named Setsuna Mudo.
Setsuna Mudo is a problematic delinquent high school student, who is in love with his sister (thus producing the emotional pain required by her punishment). To add to his problems, he is also discovered as the
reincarnation of a fallen angel, which gets him caught in the complex war between heaven and hell.

The ultimate villain of the story, YHWH, presumed to be God, is actually a being from another universe. He is a
megalomaniac with no real physical form, who created the current universe in order to test an equation that he had fashioned.

A : Angel Links

Angel Links (星方天使エンジェルリンクス, Seihō Tenshi Enjeru Rinkusu?, lit. "Angels of the Stars: Angel Links") is an anime series. It was aired across WOWOW and the anime television network Animax.
Angel Links is about a 16 year old girl, Meifon Li, who becomes the head of a
corporation dedicated to saving transportation companies in outer space from pirates for free, as per her grandfather's dying wish. As the series progresses, she learns a terrifying secret about her grandfather and the reason for his wish. The anime is produced by Sunrise and is released in the U.S. by Bandai, and is based on a novel by Hideaki Ibuki. It is considered a spinoff of the anime series Outlaw Star and takes place in the same universe. The characters Duuz and Valeria are from an episode of Outlaw Star titled "Law and Lawlessness," and work for Meifon, although there are several differences in their character and personalities between the two shows.
Characters
Meifon Li
Central protagonist of the anime and leader of the pirate-fighting service known as Angel Links. She is an excited and romantic teenager who takes her job seriously, but shows a relaxed side when she's not on duty.
Meifon's most noteworthy trait is her large bust, and is often the subject of fanservice because of it. Her partner in battle is Taffei, who hides in her bust until Meifon calls for his help (Taffei transforms into a unique blade that has the visual qualities of angelic and demonic).
Meifon excels at both martial arts and swordsmanship. She also has a hotblooded side to her, and like Duuz she enjoys a good fight. Meifon is plagued with a strange past that unveils itself as the anime moves forward.
Meifon is voiced by
Ryoka Yuzuki in Japanese and Mariette Sluyter in English.
Kosei Hida
Meifon's left-hand man and the one in charge of various departments such as the payroll for the company. On ship, he usually takes a passive role as Meifon's advisor. He also prepares tea occasionally during a relatively minor battle.
Kosei originally served Meifon's grandfather Chenho Li, which explains his willingness to always assist Meifon. Generally a well-mannered young man who is popular with women because of his attractive appearance, Kosei strives to do everything in a just and timely method. When it comes to battle, Kosei does not show much participation, but has some skill with a number of firearms. His face and hairstyle give him
bishōnen-like qualities.
Kosei is voiced by
Hikaru Midorikawa in Japanese and Tommy Campbell in English.
Valeria Vertone
Originally appeared in
Outlaw Star as a member of a pirate-fighting group called Angel Links, Valeria Vertone is the ship's tactician. Most of the time, when the enemies are nothing too serious for the crew, Valeria is calmly relaxing in her seat, painting or filing her fingernails. She used to be a tactician for the Einhorn Empire and was their top strategist despite being so young at the time, but was put on trial for disobeying orders and getting most of her fleet killed during one mission. She also had a lover named Lawrence during her time in Einhorn, but had to drop the relationship when she was exiled. When Meifon is not present on the ship, Valeria assumes role as commander.
In actual combat, Valeria wields tonfa with amazing skill as well as kickboxing (which she also trains in when she is off duty). In contrast to her Outlaw Star appearance, the major differences are her hair (which is far more wild-looking, including a more defined red streak which can only be seen in her final scene in "Law and Lawlessness" and on the opposite side) and her personality (which is more relaxed in comparison to being so "by-the-book" in Outlaw Star). She is also the only character among the crew who could be considered Duuz's friend, out of respect for one another's battle talents and perhaps because they are closer in age than the other crew members, who are teenagers to young adults.
Valeria is voiced by
Atsuko Tanaka in Japanese and Elizabeth Stepkowski in English.
Duuz Delax Rex
Originally appeared in
Outlaw Star as a stubborn, hotheaded officer of a pirate-fighting group called Angel Links. He is much more relaxed than his Outlaw Star incarnation and tends to view humans as very inferior to his people. Duuz is the ship's Platoon Commander.
Known for being the most powerful among his people (called Dragonites in Angel Links rather than Saurians), he is unmatched in swordsmanship and barehanded combat. Highly powerful and deadly, Duuz fights battles alone (though he is assisted by Meifon, Kosei and Valeria occasionally) and never seems to suffer any kind of damage. He is so skilled that he can deflect bullets with his sword. Incidentally, like Valeria, he is often the most calm member of the entire crew, silently polishing his cherished sword. He is also wise and contemplative, and is able to read the enemies' moves with little trouble as well as give advice "like a wise old dragon".
Duuz is a vegetarian, which is difficult to believe since his muscular build is quite large for someone who subsisted on vegetables his whole life, and does not like seafood. In regards to his appearance, he has different coloring for his scales and his eyes, and a tail more like a crocodile's.
In Outlaw Star it was stated his species was genetically engineered from dinosaurs. In Angel Links, Dragonites are their own people (a naturally born race rather than a created one).
Duuz is voiced by
Kenji Utsumi in Japanese and Dave Kelly in English.
